- ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. About Pac ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
-
- The object of the game is to achieve the highest possible score. You (the
- circular mouth moving around the maze) are chased by four ghosts. The maze is
- initially filled with dots, all of which you must eat to finish each level. You
- eat a dot simply by going over it, which adds 10 points to your score. Allowing
- one of the ghosts to eat you costs you one life. You start each game with 3
- lives.
-
- There are also 4 power cherries on each maze. Eating one of these will add 50
- points to your score and you can temporarily eat the ghosts, which are
- transparent at that time and try to run away from you at half speed. Eating a
- ghost adds a a number of points to your score. The number of points increases
- with the number of ghosts you eat after eating one power cherry. When a ghost
- is eaten, it is reborn in the ghost box in the center of the maze.
-
- Once in a while a strawberry shows up on the maze. Eating it adds 100 points to
- your score. However, you must move fast, because the strawberry does not stay
- around for very long. Reaching a score of 10000 points awards you an extra
- life.
-
- You can also make yourself invisible by pressing Space. When you are invisible
- you cannot be eaten by the hungry ghosts and you cannot eat anything yourself.
- However being invisible subtracts points from your score, so you should only
- become invisble in an emergency. Press Space to become visible again.

- ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. Playing the game ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
-
- To start a new game choose New from the Game menu or press Ctrl+N.
-
- Use the four arrow keys to move around the maze. You continue moving in your
- current direction until, it is possible to move in the specified direction, or
- you hit a maze wall, in which case you stop. For example, when you think that
- you should take the next right turn, hit the right arrow key; the keystroke is
- remembered and acted upon when the right turn comes. Note that only one
- keystroke is remembered at a time, so pressing another arrow key overrides the
- last one pressed.
-
- The score is displayed on the left side and the level is displayed on the right
- side.
-
- You can pause the game at any time by choosing Pause from the Game menu or by
- pressing Ctrl+P. To continue a paused game press Continue.
-
- When the game is over and you have made a top score you are asked to enter your
- name. Choose Hall of fame to display the hall of fame.
